This policy explains how Earthshinejournal selects, researches, reviews, updates, and corrects its editorial content. It applies to everything we publish.
Scope and purpose
We cover Earth science, astronomy, space, technology, natural events, travel, and related subjects. Content should help readers understand a topic, make an informed decision, or explore an event safely and responsibly.
Evidence and sources
- Primary sources are preferred whenever available: peer-reviewed research, official datasets, government and space-agency publications, original documents, and direct expert material.
- Important or disputed claims should be cross-checked against more than one reliable source.
- Dates, names, quantities, quotations, and links are checked before publication.
- Uncertainty, estimates, and scientific disagreement are described rather than presented as settled fact.
- Sources are linked or named where doing so helps readers verify a claim.
- Where a figure cannot be sourced reliably, it is left out or its uncertainty is stated in the text.
Authorship and responsibility
Every article has a named human author who is responsible for its accuracy. Author pages explain the subjects a contributor covers and give access to their previous work. We do not publish articles under invented bylines or pseudonymous personas.
We do not claim professional credentials for our writers that they do not hold. Where a subject requires specialist expertise we do not have, we rely on and cite those who do, or we state the limits of what we can say. Material involving specialized or high-risk claims should receive additional review or clearly state its limitations.
Experience and first-hand claims
We distinguish what a writer has done or observed directly from what has been researched. An article does not imply that we visited a place, tested a product, or used a service unless that actually happened.
Use of automation and AI tools
Research, transcription, editing, or automation tools may assist the publishing process, but they are not treated as authoritative sources or credited as authors. A human author must review the final article, verify factual claims against reliable sources, check citations, and take responsibility for what is published. Material must not imitate a source or fabricate expertise, quotations, experiences, or evidence.
Independence and commercial content
Advertising, sponsorship, free products, affiliate relationships, or other financial interests must be disclosed when they could affect how readers judge an article. Commercial partners do not receive the right to change factual conclusions, and advertising placement has no influence on what we choose to cover. Sponsored content is labeled clearly. Updates and corrections
Articles may be updated when facts, schedules, links, or recommendations change. Material corrections are handled according to our Corrections Policy. Readers can report a concern through our Contact page.
